Okay I'm not beat around the bush - I think I've got a problem.

My shrink is on 2 weeks vacation (this is the one who I've been seeing for the past few months, and has helped me tremendously get my life back together since the brutal breakup with the ex). I've been searching on LS for posts that relate to my current situation, but I can't find any.

Okay here we go : I find men my own age and older butt-ugly.

You see, I've always had relationships with men who are younger than me...and recently made the decison to end doing this (the ex was 19 years my junior).

I look to be in my thirties, but I'm actually much older - I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I sooooo much enjoy socializing, working with, and having conversations with men in my own age bracket - but I'm not attracted to any of them.

There's a guy at work, who looks to be in his mid 20's, ( and yes, I know better than to get involved with a co-worker - I have NO intention of going there, just using this as an example)...anyways, he was the one who initially approached me - he gives me compliments on what I'm wearing, he goes out of his way to come over and say Hi...he looks deeply in my eyes, puts his hand on my shoulder, and asks in a gentle, caring voice "how are you doing today, girl?"

Now I think I might be developing a secret crush on him *sigh*....I DON"T WANT THIS TO BE HAPPENING TO ME!...I am seriously venting here, folks.

A mature man would be much more suitable for me - I don't understand why I won't give them a chance...WTF is wrong with me?

I don't see anything wrong with you pursuing any thing above the legal age no matter how old you are. So long as your motives are clear and you are not misleading any of these younger lads then what's the harm? But, be mindful of their motives and intentions as well.

Remember a man that much younger than you may still be thinking about kids and having a family and if you are past that stage then don't waste his time. At the very least make it known that this may just be a fun for now relationship. But go after what you want there are no rules that say you have to date you own age, race, religion, etc!!! Happy hunting!

Isn't this the guy you went out with once and haven't heard from again?

No, I don't date co-workers, the only guys I have spoken of in the past few months were the ones I felt bad about blowing off - because I just wasn't 'ready'.

I SAID I was using an EXAMPLE of the effect younger men have on me.

You must have me confused with another Canadian sister....I am not the one who started the other thread about re-entry into the dating world, and I bet ThreeOfSwords would NOT appreciate your nasty reply if this was her post.

She admitted she made a mistake, what compells you to through dirt back into someone's face, and try to make them feel bad about themselves? You consistantly do this, why?

Whoa, calm down there. I didn't notice anything "b*tchy" about moimeme's response. It doesn't appear to be a dig or shot at you or anyone. She was just asking a question to clarify.

Thanks, Devildog. You're exactly right. Um JB, it was just a question.

Yeesh.
