Author Northwestern1011
I texted him. He asked when I'd like to go out again, and what I'm doing this weekend. I told him I'm free, and he said quote "I'll have my people call your people." So apparently He's al Capone now or something.

Its so silly that it has to be a joke.
Author Northwestern1011
What's that about? Notice he didn't exactly ask you out on a date that he planned? I wouldn't respond to his games? IF he plans a date and asks you OUT then respond... Interested men PLAN a date and ask you out! I have no clue. I figured maybe he was kidding. He didn't text me back til The next night, to wish me happy new year. I wrote back to see how his New Years had been, and he's just been complaining that someone he works with got him sick. Like no "how was YOUR New Years" just telling me he's sick.
thecrucible
Ah okay that's hard to read. Maybe the ball is in his court for now? I also see what others are saying about overthinking. I am guilty of that too and I find dating quite emotionally draining as well. So I should take my own advice but I'd say try and distract yourself with something fun so you are not thinking about his response all the time. If you are truly distracted, you won't even care whether he responds or not.
smackie9
You are guarded and he is stuck wondering if you actually have any interest....just ask him out to a place your bumpkiness would like. You go nowhere sitting there waiting for the guy to do all the damn work.
