If a guy normally goes for a Ginger type, but happens to become smitten with a Mary Ann that he has intense chemistry and connection with, could it work out long-term? Or would he eventually get restless and seek out a Ginger?

Lol I would advise said guy to grow up and stop thinking with his d*ck, and appreciate the intense chemistry and the connection he shares with an equally beautiful woman --Mary Ann, and let go of silly fantasies that mean jack shyt in the grand scheme of things. If he can do this, then YES his relationship with Mary Ann will work out! And good luck!!! 3

(I'd choose both of them.) To the point, tastes really do - or at least can - vary, so there's no one type I "normally" choose. I could literally have a taste for one one night and the other the next. 1

Even though Mary Ann may be in the 99% she is still among those who would never lose a man because she wasn't good looking enough it would take other factors for her to lose. And there are many reasons for a man to avoid trying for the 1%. However as the show was set in the early 60s before TV characters went through the sexual revolution even if Ginger was a 1% woman she would still be perceived as more willing to engage in extra marital sex thus changing the ballgame

She was not a plain Jane she was just as pretty as Ginger. Though her character did not dress cheap, act easy, like Ginger. Mary Ann had the great looks and character that gave her the image of an ideal wife.

Ginger is not who I would want for a wife, but she would certainly get my attention for a few lovely dates. Mary Ann is the type that would keep me for the long term. I have always found that our types are not rigid. We tend to formulate our types based on who we love. Having said that, it really doesn't matter what we say if the guy you like thinks differently, but the odds are that his answer is similar to the answers here. 2

Dawn Wells has obviously had plastic surgery too but hers is more natural looking. All the guys I have heard talk about this choice have always said they would pick Mary Ann over Ginger. I think it wasn't just her wholesome good looks, it was also her sweet and sincere personality. Ginger dressed like a sexy vamp and could be conniving and spoiled. I think that if Ginger and Mary Ann traded personalities and fashion styles it would affect which girl got picked.

Yes, I agree, but looking at the Now pics convinces me that my choice would have been correct. My choice was about personality as much as looks. Ginger gave off vibes that she would be with "me" as long as the next guy better didn't come along. As far as physical aspects go, both are attractive women, people may favor brunettes VS redheads or tall VS short. The real question about this comes down to personality. The real tale was how they treated the goofiest character on the Island. Mary Anne was always sweet and nurturing, Ginger, on the other hand, was more manipulative and would fluster Gilligan to get her way.

Ginger is a work of art who at least has enough strength and dignity to maintain her image while stranded on an island with a pack of buffoons. Ginger is really the more genuine image in many ways since who she portrays on the show and who she was in real life (a glamorous actress) are one and the same. I say throw Mary Ann on over to Petticoat Junction where she fits in better.

I mean, we all have dated some losers, but for a guy's past women who were duds to be on a "pedestal" in his mind, turns me off (in other words, he doesn't consider himself worthy of a decent woman and elevates duds, so he won't accept the reality of his poor taste in women) I know of a guy who the two most important women in his life consist of lazy and dumb with sorta pretty faces. One is literally a real life version of Porky Pig's gf, Petunia...and, the other is a psycho skank. Oh yeah, both are blue-collar golddiggers and "dependas" (women who chase military guys for the "benefits" like heathcare, GI bill, disability, and housing payments -aka "security" that comes with landing a lonely G.I.) I cannot fathom how he can get s hardon to have sex with either of them...maybe they do it in the dark. Maybe is a jackhammering secession? And the more I think about it, I don't want someone who touched a Petunia, prostitute, sugar baby, skank, or bimbo to ever touch me. To stop me from hurling my lunch about this guy doing it with Petunia , I'm assuming most guys could care less if it's Ginger or MaryAnn cuz just like on an island you only got them two to chose from, desperate guys will just take whatever comes their way (and/or what they consider is in their "league")...well, as long as she's got a decent looking face - her body, intelligence, ambition, independence, character, qualities and/or value isn't gonna matter to most guys.
