You need to wait for the right time...where you feel most comfortable. You don't need to run out and find a date tomorrow. Have patience for the right circumstances to present themselves...and then take advantage of that. As far as your mate's girlfriend, I suggest for your sake that you control yourself and take your mind off of her. She's taken.

However, i'm not so sure if you really want your friends bird or not. To me it sounds like you've picked someone unattainible to make you feel worthwhile or something. However, on to asking girls out. Look, just go for it! You've got no chance if you don't. I came from a small town in Australia, and no one has the guts to ask anyone out, so therefore we're all single! Just find someone you like, do the "Just Friends" bit, and if you still want her ask her out! Trust me, i wish more guys would do the asking!
