YoungLondoner Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I met someone who became a friend about eight months ago. We've only met up about five times since we first met and it's always been platonic and on a friendship basis. I went over to his last night for drinks and a catch-up. We both had quite a lot to drink and then we just ended up kissing passionately on the sofa. I said "Let's wait and do this properly. How are you set for Tuesday?" He agreed and we're now meeting up tomorrow night at his. However, he sent a text today saying "I was very forward last night. My apologies x". I replied saying how I thought it was lovely and that I hoped he was still on for tomorrow. He said "of course" although his flatmate will be there. So, we're still meeting up tomorrow night but I'm a tad confused - why did he apologies for being forward? Does he regret it?...
d0nnivain Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 He doesn't regret kissing you. He was trying to be a gentleman & assure you that he wants more then just a physical thing with you. Go in with an open mind, assuming that you found one of the good ones. 2
WaitingForBardot Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 He might be fishing for confirmation that last night was something you wanted and it wasn't just the demon alcohol clouding your judgment. 2
Author YoungLondoner Posted December 21, 2015 Author Posted December 21, 2015 Thanks both. I said "I hope I wasn't too forward last night either" and he said "No. It was me. Nice tho." so I guess that's a good sign? I think I really like him - any advice for how to be tomorrow night? Play it cool I guess
d0nnivain Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Do be cool meaning don't start professing your undying love for him or planning your wedding but keep things light & fun while communicating to him that you are definitely interested in seeing where this should go. Your planning should extend no more than 2 weeks in advance. You can consider him as a date for NYE with the kiss at mid-night but don't even think about Valentine's Day yet & certainly don't make summer plans.
