I finally found someone I like that likes me back. It feels darn good and sort of happened when I least expected it. It's good to be in a relationship again

Thanks. We met online. I called her Friday night just to talk and she ended up asking if I wanted to meet up. I had already made plans for a game night with my brother and cousins so I asked her if she could meet up Saturday or Sunday instead. She said she was busy both days and that she wishes I could come out that Friday night as she wanted to meet me. I didn't want to cancel on my family but one quote kept flying through my head and that was "fortune favors the bold." I figured in the craziest of scenarios making the decision to meet her instead could literally change my life. What if we click and marry someday? That's worth canceled a fun game night that in the grand scheme of things would be ultimately forgettable.

So I took the chance and canceled on my family. My cousins understood while my brother was pissed I didn't see my commitment through. I get his POV but he's married and at 32 I want to be too someday. I am not getting any younger and as the years and so so first dates pile up I started thinking about accepting my fate as being a bachelor for life.

Fortune favors the bold. There that quote flew through my head again. I texted her yes and she was so happy. When I met her she was a little heavier than her pics but I still found her to be attractive. We had a nice little date and at the end I went for the kiss. Because fortune favors the bold lol. That quote was the theme of the night! She kissed back and the rest is is history :)

Congratulations !! :-) Good luck with everything. It's nice to hear positive stories, a lot of people are struggling to find a compatible someone and this gives them hope.

Par for the course with online dating . You're far more forgiving than I would have been.

Well done man :)

Go easy on the labelling as a relationship straight away though. If I understand right, you've been on one date? That's not a relationship yet but a positive start.

Let him label it! come on he's excited! you give me hope to I've been single since the age of 20 and I'm 32 too! it get's harder I agree to find someone you really like. So many people in the 30's end up settling. You actually found someone that likes you who you like back. That's rare! hold on to that.

I kinda agree with the others, 1 date with someone you've never met before is a bit early to be calling a relationship... but still, it's an amazing feeling isn't it? Liking someone who likes you back. One of the best things in life. :) And while it might not be a relationship YET, it's certainly a good foundation for one.

All the best! Keep us updated. :D

She invited me to her family Christmas party on Friday. Seeing as my family does it Christmas Eve, I told her I'll be there. It may be a little fast but I guess that's the awkward nature of hitting it off with someone a week prior to Christmas lol. Gonna go and just have fun.

So many mind games these days congrats. I remember seeing your posts on your dating struggles.
