I wear different amounts of makeup at different times. If I'm going out dancing or to a formal dinner I'm definitely doing the smoked look. Never had a problem attracting attention with wearing that amount.

I say change it up because guys like variety. For example one day I did the naughty librarian look, hair up, glasses, heavy on the eyeliner and lipstick. One of my male coworkers pulled me aside and quietly told me in a serious tone that I was causing quite a stir with the guys. He said I'm hot with my hot for teacher look lol. I was just wearing jeans, steel toes and a baggy sweatshirt. So makeup can really change the mood with men.

Ladies, wearing no makeup is like not taking a shower. Please don't make yourself be seen without it.

It's always only the uglies.

Boy, you had to take it there, didn't you?

The majority of men had NO idea is the woman wearing make up - a little or a lot, or not at all.

Men notice and perceive as make up unnatural shades:

- blue, green etc shadows

- hot pink, orange, red lipstick

- colored eyeliners

Very well done foundation, some contour, blush, shadows (nude), a little mascara, lipstick (nude/pink) eg for MOST men record as no make up at all :D

And a bright lipstick or eyeshadow alone (on clean face) equates to "slamming make up" :D

This. ^^^

By the standards of this thread, I have always worn "a lot" of makeup. Foundation, contouring eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara and whatever shade of lipstick looks best with my outfit. Thanks to my age, I've now added brow shadow.

Despite what the majority in this thread are reporting, I have never had trouble attracting - and meeting - men. Not a one has asked me to tone it down after meeting me.

Do you, OP. "If you build it, they will come."
