I ask this NOT because I'm trying to brag or anything. I just honestly want to figure out if I need to "shut it down" or if it's harmless.

Basic Info: She's 20 (I'm almost twice her age). She works as a support person in our office. She's very bright, funny, and extremely attractive.

In the past two weeks, she's done/said the following:

Comes into my office and leans/sits on my desk while we talk.

Showed me her new tattoo on her arm, which required her to remove her jacket and roll her sleeve all the way up (while she was in my office alone with me).

Told me she was no longer dating the guy she was dating.

Gave me half of her sandwich today.

Told me she wants to work on my team at work.

To make it clear, I did not ask/solicit ANY of this from her. That being said, I haven't shut her down in any way either.

Does anyone see anything inappropriate here?

I wouldn't personally take that as somebody flirting with me, just because people do things like that these days, and more, without it really meaning anything. But that doesn't mean for sure she isn't trying to flirt.

Maybe my view of how over the top when it means nothing some people can be is jaded though.

About 8 or so years ago there was a (quite attractive) barmaid at this pub me and my friends would go to of a Friday night. She had both of her nipples pierced and without fail would whip her top and bra up and flash her nips to guys at the bar to show off these piercings. (We all pretty much knew each other as it was a pub the same people went to week after week) It went from "yeahhhh Sophies nipples!" to "for f***s sake, Sophies nipples again" .. Because she did it so often, and that was just something she did and thought it was OK and normal, then went home with her boyfriend every night.

Not sure that's relevant but, some women just like to do and say things without it meaning anything.

I will answer your question with a question.....would you tell all of this to your wife? If the roles were reversed....and a guy was doing this to your wife...would you think it is flirting?

If you are questioning whether this woman is flirting with you....and you have asked the question here...you already know she is flirting and you already know it should be shut down.

I honestly have no idea if I should make anything of it.

It probably just comes down to her being young and friendly and me being the only "cool" guy in the office and we have a good back-and-forth vibe going on. She said she reeeeeally wants to be on my team. I enjoy her company and don't want to mess it up by reading into things that aren't there.

IMO usually flirt vibes are pretty clear, so I don't think there's much mistaking that part. What the rel questions are are how much and why.

How much - some ppl like to mini-flirt and it doesn't mean anything. But maxi-flirting means sth.

Why - fact of life is ppl have agendas. I don't want to bust your balls but it's entirely possible she's not thinking "what a sexy adorable 3x year old guy ....I just want to bang him!" but "hm I can probs pull sth out of this old dude if I ever need to. Flirt engaged."

What does sth mean? I'm lost on that one.

And I don't really think she's that manipulative...she's a nice young lady...I call her a "kid" all the time and does seem to bust her balls a bit.

It means "something".

It's not necessarily that she's manipulative. It's just good practice to be charming when working your way up. This is quite easy for young, attractive women--nearly unavoidable if they are simply friendly.
