patriotsgirl Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I am doing some last minute xmas shopping for my fiance. We are in a long distance relationship for now so I have to ship all of his gifts. I purchased a few small gifts (boxers, socks, and a neck tie) I still have about $130 left in my gift budget for him. I was wondering if it would be better for me to get him a Ralph Lauren Polo sweater and a pair of gloves. Or if I should get him a few cheaper sweaters. Stores are having huge sales right now. He is not materialistic or picky about gifts. He is a student. He has white collar job offers. Most of his current clothing is casual. I'm concerned the items won't fit bc he is between sizes depending on the brand. One thing to keep in mind is I have to ship all of this stuff which option is best?
StBreton Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I'd get him a briefcase or portfolio ...maybe something monogrammed...if he'll be getting a white collar job soon. Does he have nice wallet? I like to give lasting meaningful gifts.
d0nnivain Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 The gloves would be cheaper to ship but will probably get lost. I'd get the one nice sweater.

I don't know what the weather is like where your fiance is, but if he doesn't own one and lives somewhere cold, a classic black peacoat would make a great gift. Something he can wear to his new job. Good blend of useful and nice looking. Otherwise I like the briefcase idea. The problem with sweaters or other things is 1) They're harder to fit right (trust me, I'm a guy who is between sizes) and 2) they are less versatile.

Send him some sexy lingerie, with a note attached saying you're looking forward to modeling it for him next time you see each other.
smackie9 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Send him a pair of sexy panties with a photo of you wearing them. Remember it's not about the money spent but the thought that goes into the gift. With the rest of the money put it into a gift card for a cafe he can use for his lunches. Food and sex, that's all men really appreciate from a woman.
LydiaLong Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 I bought my husband a beautiful leather shaving bag from Leatherology. They embossed it with his initials. It was around $100. Nice for travel.

angel.eyes Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 What does he like? What are his hobbies? I try to get gifts specific to the person, and ideally something he wants/loves but wouldn't get for himself. At the end of the day, it's the thought that counts, not the price tag.
