user404 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I just started going to a new doctor's office. I'm 23 btw. I've been there a couple of times over the last two weeks and have one more visit next week. After that it's going to be six months before my next visit. There's this cute receptionist there who has a personality that I find to be similar to my own, which is fairly uncommon. Anyways, I want to ask her out. I can't tell if she's just being friendly or is interested. Both times I've gone we've conversed quite a bit. She always laughs at my jokes and tries to make conversation with me, even when I stop talking about things. She also teases me about things. She seems to be impressed by my career and asks me questions about it. She also asked me how old I am and said "oh you're almost my age." So I assume she's around the same age but I'm not sure exactly how much. Should I ask her out next time? See, it's weird because there's always this other receptionist there with her. Also my whole family goes there so it would be a little weird if things got awkward. How should I do it? I won't be returning there for six months after this.
Scarlett.O'hara Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I'm not going to try and talk you out of it because it sounds like you have already made up your mind, but I will warn you that there is that there is a high possibility you will be rejected on the basis of that you are a patient there so it might be ethical dilemma for her which could put her job at risk. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
DrReplyInRhymes Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Go for it, and don't forget to bring out your A game, for being a receptionist, and hot, she's probably got fame, Flirting is probably natural for her, but teasing you is not, It's a sign she's attracted and is returning your banter without being caught.

I didn't even think about that. I really like this doctor so I don't want them to ask me not to come back because of it. Maybe it's best if I just don't bother with it.

Maybe it's best if I just don't bother with it. Is this the kind of deal where you go to the office, collect a clipboard with a form on it, and sit down to fill the form out? Perhaps you could take one of the million flyers that are usually sitting around in a waiting room, open it for a blank space to write on, write can I get your number? or whatever you wish on it, and clip it over the form on the clipboard. That way she sees it when you bring the filled out form back. And if she wants to she can give it to you quietly and without anyone noticing. No scene. Just a thought.
