congrats19 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 So over the past few weeks I've been reading a lot of posts on this site and others I have found on the internet. One of the things I have read about that I completely resonate with is the Grass is Greener syndrome. Almost everything fits my ex to a T. So basically my question to anyone who has experienced this in the past is how did it end up for you? We haven't spoken to each other in two months, but I still see him on campus from time to time, we just haven't had a conversation. Any personal experiences would help - thanks!
marky00 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 most folks on here dont believe in GIGS. GIGS may rear it head for certain people who go in and out of short term relationships (less than 6 months). GIGS may also occur at the end of a very long long-term relationship where someone just wants to experience something completely different and to maybe enjoy the honeymoon phase again. The key to GIGS is that its not about you, its about them. In other words, whoever you were they would have left. Thats why dumpees hope like hell their Ex left for GIGS, but sadly its rarely the case. 99% of the time they leave because they no longer love YOU. That isn't GIGS.
mightycpa Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 They don't come back. They keep getting jobs mowing new lawns until they find one that one perfect job where the grass seems the greenest ever. Sometimes, they mow more than one lawn at a time so that they can make ends meet. You should too. I assure you that the grass is much greener than an XBF that's not interested.
Meli22 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 If you're ok with being someone's back up plan, then keep hoping. "I've realised there's no one else like you" = "I'm bored of everyone else, I need someone, you'll do. For now." Keep drumming this concept into your head: if they leave you to see what else is out there, they're not fully committed to YOU. One of my exes DID come back after playing the field. I told him where to go
