Bobbi7 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Of the few guys, I've talked to on OLD, some asked if I had Kik, I never heard of it and saw that its an instant messenger app. Why am I going to use IM app??? Are they not into texting or something?
Samhain Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 In my experience.. 'kik' is what I type when I don't look at my keyboard and wanna say "lol".. No idea about the app. Maybe it's some way they wanna be able to communicate with you more often (for free) without texting or logging into a dating site.
lana-banana Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Many people prefer messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Kik (although Kik seems to be almost exclusively for young people, I don't know anyone over 25 who uses it). In the United States text messages are massively overpriced, and texting is actually pretty limited in terms of functionality. You can do so much more with IM programs: encryption, native support for gifs, ability to use usernames or phone numbers, deleting chats, extra security, timed destruction of messages---all these apps have different features that appeal to different kinds of users. I'd still be weirded out by an adult using Kik.
BetrayedH Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Kik is a texting app. It's just not traceable like an SMS text. So, their girlfriends (or parents) won't see it. Classic cheater app. 1
loveweary11 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Literally no reason for it. Texting is unlimited on all plans these days. The only reason to use it is when you don't want the other person to have your number. I give anyone my number, then just block them if I don't like them. Some people would prefer not to give their number out at all. ***I do have kik, never use it 1
loverage21 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Like someone else said you use it if you don't want someone to have your actual number. I have it, don't use it at all hardly. I do use snapchat tho. It helped me lose my virginity.
shet Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 It's a texting app with usernames instead of numbers. You don't want to give out numbers, you use Kik. Simple.
