Boyfriend acting scared around my brother!

My brother, having sold his house has moved temporarily into mine until he buys a new place. My new boyfriend of 2-3 months looked positively scared the first time I introduced them! (I should say however, although confident in some situations, he can be rather shy and nervous in others eg meeting my friends for the first time) While he does appear to be getting more relaxed around my brother in recent times, I've also noticed he doesn't like staying over with me as much, like he did before! The bedrooms aren't adjacent-separated by another room! We've not started having sex yet, though of course brother wouldn't know this.

Incidentally, brother is reasonably tall but of average build. Not exactly the over-protective type, either.

Any thoughts?

I think it's normal to a certain point to be intimidated by males in a woman's family - at first. When I tell men I have 3 brothers I often get the reaction 'wow they must be protective of you'. It's definitely intimidating.

I would give it a little bit of time for them to get familiar.

Thanks Gaeta. Wow! Three brothers! I can certainly see how that could be intimidating in some cases. For instance, in some (Eastern) European cultures-not mine, I hasten to add-brothers 'take care' in the physical sense of aberrant boyfriends and husbands!!

Yes, he's relaxing a bit more now but they only meet occasionally so progress is slow!
