StalwartMind Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Neither, telepathy is the only way to do it right, screw distance. (Both ways are fine, I enjoy both, ergo online and in person both win, it's a glorious day when everyone is a winner!) 1
casey.lives Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 technology is a barrier. telepathy is wrong. things you ChOOSE to say matter more than things you think. like when things you choose to do matter more than things you only think of doing. talking in person...body language is 80% of all communication. 1
nouedis Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Neither are good forms of communication, because constantly talking isn't necessarily communicating, you know? However, I'd say in person it'd be better because you can see their true colors and if they're bluffing or not. Over the internet you can't see any of that, so you either continue instigating or leave the topic (depending if it was arguable or not).
disneyfan90 Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 In person, hands down. I feel this is true for almost any situation. I've gotten close to people by talking to them in person and even on the phone--never online or through text. I know that social media is supposed to make people feel more connected, but I never feel connected by talking to someone online. I feel like I'm talking to a computer. But when I see someone in person I feel a sense of warmth that I don't get from technology.

Clarence_Boddicker Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Both have their advantages & disadvantages.
Author Liquinn Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 Both have their advantages & disadvantages. Can you list them, please? Thanks
Author Liquinn Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 Talking to the person online feels like you're not really talking to the person.
Author Liquinn Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Why is it easier to be open with things and people online?
casey.lives Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 no some people still communicate passive aggressively.
casey.lives Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Some people still use fantastical word play rather than speaking truth
Author Liquinn Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Some people still use fantastical word play rather than speaking truth What do you mean?
AspenBaldwin Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Give a man a mask and he'll tell you the truth. Can't recall who said that. 1
Wewon Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Its the same reason that confessional booths are designed the way that they are; sitting side by side with a screen obscuring you and a oath of secrecy people will tell you about stealing from work and cheating on their spouse. Do you think people would be so open if confession was done face-to-face at a booth at Starbucks over coffee? 1
Author Liquinn Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 It's easier to be open online as one isn't physically saying it.
DrReplyInRhymes Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 True honesty is rare, hold on to them when you find it, For those who live transparently aren't bound to the lies behind it.
Author Liquinn Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 When I met a few people I spoke to from online in person it's "different". Why?
almond Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I'm much more of an open book in real life than I am online. Something about the internet just gives me the creeps privacy-wise.
