One_Made_of_Silver Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I'm on this dating site, and I just noticed this very cute girl online. The thing is, I know this girl. She works in the same department as me. I had one brief conversation with her once, and I was interested in her, but I always thought she was taken and that I had no shot with her and didn't ask her out. How should I handle this?
mammasita Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 you message her and assuming she recognizes you, you say...... "So, can I take you out for some coffee/ice cream/a drink sometime?" Whatever you do, proceed with CONFIDENCE. 1
LadyDeadpool Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Pretend you never saw her on the site and ask her out. If all goes well you can tell her how you realized she was single further on in the relationship. It might even become one of those funny stories couples tell. 1
Ic1 Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Sounds like you don't work with her much even though you're in the same department. I wouldn't let it keep you from asking her out. Just keep it direct to have no drama. Long as you don't cross any lines that would be a problem in any dating situation, it'll be fine. Even if she causes drama solely due to her. Then you just keep it polite, but make it obvious it's only over. Direct again.

Like I said, I only met her once, but it was a good conversation.

I don't know what building she works in on this huge corporate campus, and haven't seen her since the day we had that conversation like a year ago.

What's wrong with being aggressive? What other options do you have? You can sit there and go back and forth with messages and wonder if she's interested or if she remembers you.....blah blah blah. Go in for the kill. Move swiftly. You'll have your answer. If she says no, on to the next. No time wasted.

You said you worked in the same department so I just assumed. In that case just message her asking her out. She may say yes or she may say no, but at least you got the ball rolling.
