Littleherc Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Me and my ex gf were together for 6 years and 8 months. She broke up with me and I didn't even see it coming.. I mean everyone has there ups and downs but I would have never thought about breaking up... It's been 4 weeks and I have the temptation to text her brother just to make sure shes doing fine... I know how she is and i know how she gets when shes depressed.. I would never want anything to happen to her.. So I just want to make sure she's fine.. I can't make her love me and I accept that.. But that doesn't mean I don't care for her anymore... Some advice would be great...
mightycpa Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 here's the acid test: If the brother said something like: "Oh yeah, she's perfectly fine! She's met a new feller and he's just swell! They go out dancing regularly, and he comes over to the house to watch Sunday night TV and have family dinner with us. Everybody loves him, especially Mom!" would that eat away at your soul, or would you wear a beaming smile because you're so happy for her? If it isn't the smile, the answer to your question is NO.
Author Littleherc Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 You guys are right... Was a dumb idea.. Thank you for your advice and it won't land on deaf ears... 1
CC12 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 You guys are right... Was a dumb idea.. Thank you for your advice and it won't land on deaf ears... I appreciate that you took the advice given. In case you ever get the temptation again to contact her brother to ask about her, don't. It is not fair to him to put him in the middle of your situation. Leave him out of it. Good luck.
BC1980 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 No, don't do it. It might seem like a nice idea on the surface, but you aren't together anymore. So how she is doing is not your concern. I know it takes awhile to wrap your mind around that though. I think a good test is to ask yourself why you would be unable to contact her directly, and you will have your answer. If you have to ask a third party about someone, it's probably for a reason. 1
