On OLD I've always waited for the guys I'm talking to to suggest we meet up for drinks, dinner or whatever. I've never initiated it myself.

 

Among the "meh" over-eager guys on OLD there is one that is different and who I am genuinely very interested in. He was the one to message me first, suggest going for a drink and ask for my number. He's not yet suggested a particular date or place, I'm sure he will soon. I kind of like the idea of me suggesting it though. What do you think?

It really depends on the man. If you're an assertive woman and want a man who wants an assertive woman, than go ahead and ask him out. If he's turned off by that, well than you have your answer.

Not all guys do, well if we do we want it to get straight to the point, but yeah I do wish more women would approach men or ask men out, but I know I can't hold my breath for that

Chasing: Going after a woman who acts like she doesn't want him and over investing.

 

Pursuing: Meeting a womans investment then upping it a little.

 

The actual act of asking someone out isn't gender specific and doesn't actually mean something is wrong or off kilter. It's what you do afterwards that actually counts.

Just ask him out. It's over the internet. So it should be quite a bit less intimidating, also.
