cadams0315 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 My ex broke up with me 7 weeks ago. Last week, I created an account on a dating website in an attempt to keep moving forward and for me to move on. Two days after I created my account, I noticed my ex came up as one of my matches. I blew right past the match. He did call me last Friday but I didn't answer the phone. He didn't leave me a message and I won't call him back. We have had an on and off relationship for over a year and a half. He was the one who initiated the breakup every time we broke up. Last night, I received a chat request on the dating website I am on. It was from my ex. All he said was "Hey, how have you been, everything ok?" Just when I think I am able to move on, he decides to contact me. Of course, I ignored it and closed out the chat request. It's clear to me that he doesn't want a long term relationship with me. Do the exes have esp? How do they know when the dumpee is ready to move on? Why is he contacting me through the dating site? What is his motivation?

He doesn't seem to be worth the time and energy thinking about him, he seen you on the site and wanted you to see him on it too in case you did not scan past him, he doesn't want you to forget him and that he still exists while hes on a dating site trying to move on like you. He 100% seen you on it and got a fright and panicked a little and thats why he messaged you. no more than that. hes the dumper so dont bother my ex was on a dating site 2 days after a break up and it hurt so incredibly bad. Just focus on you and realize it doesnt matter and in time you will be fine like you always where 1
walkingonair Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Going through exactly the same situation as you! Ex has also reached out but I'm ignoring. Please don't respond! He wants to see if he still has you, it's all about his ego. You can only respond if he says that he wants a relationship with you, everything else he days is breadcrumbs!
Author cadams0315 Posted November 21, 2015 Author Posted November 21, 2015 He just sent me another chat request. This time he said, "hello, maybe we can chat sometime?" Why does it seem he doesn't even know me? Seems like a line that he says to any woman that he is trying to get to know. Do you know what I mean? You know, very informal? Something you would send to someone you have never met. Could he be trying to start over again? I must admit, it is tempting to respond but I am so head strong about NC that I won't. I will not respond to him ever. He will realize this soon. I hope. I just closed out the chat request and ignored him.

He's likely checking if the door is still open. Continue to show him it's closed.

You said you've broken up and got back together a few times. He's likely checking if the door is still open. Continue to show him it's closed. He and I got back together a few times and I was only facing the inevitable. I intend on making him live with his decision this last time. He's history and what he and I had was in the past. This is where is will remain. Thank you for confirming what I thought he might have been doing. The door is shut for good now. Of course there is a small part of me that wishes things worked out but being away from him for much longer this time, I realize he is no good for me at all. Moving on now.
