Did I handle this well?

Well I took my Boo out for wings, beer and chocolate fudge cake...Was really a beautiful night. We then parked by the river and made out for a while(as all 40 year olds should do...haha) which was nice. Dropped her off at her house and as she was walking up the lane I said Love you! And pulled out of the lane way.

And then it hit me!....I just did what I do with my kids, I say I love you all the time with them and when ever I am dropping them off etc..Its just automatic.

 

For more context we have been dating one month And shes my kids school teacher And I do like her a lot and I am falling for her hard, But it was to early to say that.. So I pulled over down the road and texted her That I do care for her a lot and I am falling for her but That I love you was an automatic response as I do it often with my kids... She texts me back with this

 

"You did not freak me out at all...I adore you-Like you have no idea how much-nothing you say to me freaks me out.."

 

She seems alright with it, I just hope it does not put a damper on when I'm ready to say it for real! AAArrgghh I'm usually so smooth..

 

Advice? Did I handle it well?

I get it. I wasn't trying to downplay the possible significance, just compared to the seemingly typical problems I read on here it's pretty tame.
