A guy had invited me for a first date. I suggested we meet in a public place in central London -- a coffee shop or restaurant. He'd said no, i should take the train to his area (way out in West London) and then he'd pick me up from the station in his car and drive me to a restaurant. I said "no, let's just meet at a coffee shop and I can make my own way there."

Him: "No, I want to pick you in the car."

Me: "I prefer to just meet at the coffee shop."

Him: "Forget the whole thing then."

It was essential to him that I got in his car. Why? It seems he wanted to skin-suit me?

Who cares why? Sounds sketchy and you'd be foolish to get into a stranger's car.

If I'd gotten into his car I'd be in the morgue by now.

Why don't you ask him?

This seems to happen to you a lot (men wanting sex right out of the gate).

Might I suggest you post less sexually provocative photos on your dating site profile ...and this wouldn't happen?

You're sending the wrong message...

Just a suggestion......

Anyhoo. Not even sure why this thread ...this is a no brainer.

Why you are unable to assess this yourself is something you may wish to explore within yourself.

You have every right to question his persistence. Women do need to be very careful about who and how they meet someone on line. This guy's behavior is something to take notice of. Ditch this creep.

A nice upstanding guy would never question your choice to meet in a public place, just saying.

It's so true that us women have to be aware of our safety, and to avoid certain situations.

You did the right thing.

Seems guys do not even want to put effort into getting a piece of bum...

Sad but true.

Yes, you are right. There is something creepy about this.

Hopefully that was all he was trying for and he's not a rapist or serial killer. Either way, I hope any woman he approaches in future will refuse to get into his car.
