Something I struggle with is knowing if a girl is interested in me but wants to be friends first or take things real slow. I often just take it as a sign of disinterest.

To the women out there who are like this, how do you keep the man interested? In my experiences so far, it's still always me planning all of the dates, initiating contact, etc. It seems like I'm the one putting forth significantly more effort.

Is it safe to say that if the woman isn't putting forth the same effort, that she is just in fact not interested?

It feels one sided and that's why I always conclude that they're not interested.

"Friends first"? Why would you even accept that? Don't you have friends?

Why would you take the time to build a friendship with someone new, while other guys are hitting on her and going with her on DATES?

I agree with your last line. Men have to put in most of the effort at first but after 3-5 dates, if she doesn't start pulling her weight, move on.

Online dating is a fast track for dating/relationship. If they are looking to be friends first, skip them (assuming this is not what u want).

They must be young or don't know what they want.

I agree.

And when a person says they want to "take it slow", it's sometimes a sign of them backing off because they are losing interest or don't have much in the first place. You need to clarify this. I would say that if they start off from the outset saying they want to take it slow and be friends first, that's not a good sign. It's not a good sign because it's possible to take it slow but be romantically involved.

I never once had to clarify I was "looking to be more than friends" with someone I met on an OLD site. It was clear from the get go
