I have been living with my boyfriend for like 5 months now.

We go to bed at different times some nights. He likes going to bed earlier and at some times I like going to bed later.

Everytime I climb into bed to go to sleep he wakes up. It annoys him (if he doesn't wanna get some) a fair bit because he always wakes up when I do this (guess you could say he is a light sleeper) when I go to bed later after watching TV.

Is there any ideas on how to slide into bed without waking him up?

So he wakes up everytime you slide into bed? He wants some lovin when hes been woke up? If you don't want any lovin or don't want to wake him, sleep on the couch, hell I dunno :p Or if its that you all go to bed at different times and he wants to get freaky when you get into bed later, get freaky before either of you go to bed. Or both of you compromise and go to bed at a more decent time.

that's so funny, i was so going to ask this question, but i haven't been with mine for 5 months yet.

so no, i have no idea... :o

but it's really starting to suck because he wakes me up too.

although, i have found that one of those big fluffy down feather bed things on the top of our mattress helped. it cushions a lot better, so it's a softer transition in and out of the bed. i think they even have regular ones without down, in case someone has an allergy.

Maybe if you would go to sleep at the same time but watch tv in bed he wouldn't wake up. Also, when he does wake up, doesn't he cuddle and comfort you as a "hey babe nice to see you in bed". If you're not in the mood just simply tell him, not tonight sweetie, turn over and go to sleep.

Why do you go to bed later than him?? To watch Tv, watch in the room!!! I dunno if this helps but I tried :p

Maybe a larger mattress?

actually we started doing that...we go up, turn on the tv and turn it off when we're both tired enough. i used to sleep with tv on all the time, but he broke me of that and i do sleep better now.

I've gone out with my guy for a year and 3 months. I have been living with him for the last 5 months. :).

He doesn't wake up just for sex when I go to bed later. Although it is nice when we are both in the mood too. :o.. :bunny:.

He does give me a cuddle every now and then when I go to bed later. Now even more so because it's getting close to winter. :D.

He is a light sleeper. He'll winch over the TV idea but his mum did suggest that and she said don't listen to him. Do it anyway. Lol. I should wait till I know for sure he is in a really deep sleep and try it.

They have shows like Desperate Housewifes, CSI, Crossing Jordan, Lost & Rove Live On at around 8:30pm, 9:30pm. (That's around his bed time on weeknights) Can't hlep but stay up and watch them. I usually go to bed around 11pm on weekdays. 9pm is about the earliest. If I am lucky.

I used to fall asleep with the TV on as well. Got out of that habit too.

Lately I have been going to bed the same time he does. It's good to get the extra sleep in because I work during the day. He does too. Still stay up sometimes as well.

Thanks for the ideas guys. :). More would be appreciated.

Hey there,

I am in his boat as the light sleeper. Gladly my girlfriend goes to bed before me so thats not my issue. Get one of those special foam mattresses where you get in one side and it doesn't disturb the other side. Thats lots of $$$$'s though. I can understand your boyfriend though, when you are a light sleep its so hard to get a good nights sleep. I also have a new kitten and the thing is keeping me up all night with running around and knocking things over. He should be thankful its just you getting in to bed lol

To fix this, we bought a tabletop fan and left it running on the dresser. It's always on and completely drowns out movement noise with the white noise it creates. Now we can't sleep without it on.
