HansonGirl Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 She is over 30. She told me about how she is going out and wants to go get drunk. I said why not just have a drink or two. She said, no, she has to get drunk. She often gets black-out drunk. This is nothing new. I don't drink a ton - i do drink but maybe have gotten blacked out twice my entire life. It's a regular thing for her. She swears she cannot have fun without drinking. I am concerned. But I don't know if I should be.
anika99 Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Your friend has a drinking problem and is possibly an alcoholic but there isn't much you can do about it.

You know the old saying: "If you need a drink to be social, that's not 'social drinking' "
truthtripper Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 It sounds like your friend has some personal issues which she is trying to escape through alcohol. I was in a similar situation many years ago. Perhaps you can sit down with her sometime and ask her what's really troubling her. She may need some therapy.
