JadeStar Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Hey just a quick question. I called to remind my husband he has an appointment tomorrow at the doctors. He went in January for his yearly check up/phyiscal etc. To my knowledge everything was fine. I have known about the doctors appointment, they made it for him to come back. However when I asked him why he was supossed to come back a few months after his first check up he tells me he doesn't know why. I said, "your doctor didn't tell you why he wanted to see you again?" He said, "no." Maybe some doctors are like that, but I find that odd. One if nothin is wrong he shouldn't have to go back. And second my mother used to work in the medical field and she said a doctor wouldn't just tell you to come back without telling you why. I can't help but wonder if something is wrong and he doesn't want to tell me. Or possible he had some tests done he doesn't want me to know about and they want him to come back again to be retested. He had a cholestarol check done in Jan. it was a little high so they did a recheck in march and it was fine, normal. I asked him was he gonna have another one done, he said no. It just confuses me. Has anyone else ever had to go back to the doctor a few months after going but yet the doctor doesn't tell you why he wants you to come back? Jade
tiki Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Have him call and ask why he needs to be seen. I'm sure they'll remind him. He'll look like a sumbass though.
Author JadeStar Posted May 24, 2005 Author Posted May 24, 2005 Hi tiki, I think he knows why, but yeah I could get him to call infront of me and ask them why he needs to come back..lol I wish I could but they wont tell me even though I'm his wife. Doctor/pateint confidentalty, I understand that, but hes bound to know why. Maybe he just didn't want me to worry but now I'm worried more cuz I don't know what it is..lol His appointment is at 3pm it will be interesting to see how he acts when he returns. Jade
FolderWife Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Maybe your husband just wasn't listening when the doctor was yammering on, "Your physical went well, everything looks fine, your fibutis is good, your rumiroids are good, I wondered about you endodrimus, but it was no big deal...however, *insert eyes glazing over here* I'll need to do a followup in a couple of...bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla because your bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. OK? See the receptionist on your way out." This is where your husband realizes that the doctor is looking at him funny, and telling him that he can go. So he sees the receptionist, gets an appointment...he has no idea why...and just does as he's told. Don't make him call and find out why he needs a follow up appointment...I hate when my husband asks some dumb question that the doctor didn't tell me, and I didn't ask, and then makes me call back to check. How freaking stupid thatmakes me feel
Author JadeStar Posted May 24, 2005 Author Posted May 24, 2005 Hi Monday I wont have him call. I was just joking. I just talked with him and asked him if his blood pressure was ok when he went last, he said "yes." Then I said," are you sure he didn't tell you why he needed you to come back?"He said "yes" that it was the nurse that old him the doctor wanted him to come back. He said he was gonna ask first thing when he gets there, "Whats up with you wanting to see me again?" He sounds in a good mood like nothing to worry about, and its probably not and he very well may not know why they need to see him again. Guess its just me trippin for why they didn't tell him. Mine always did if they needed to see me again. Oh well, we shall see. Jade

Author JadeStar Posted May 27, 2005 Author Posted May 27, 2005 Hey all, well, he went to the doctor and all they wanted was to follow up with him on his visit from back in January. Told him his blood presure and all was fine etc. He did say the doctor did a depression test on him, I'm assuming like a questionarie thing. He said the doc would review it and let him know if it looked as if he needed to be on some meds for it. I'm very surprised he even told the doctor he had been a little depressed lately, most of the time he doesn't want anyone to know that. Guess he figured he was feeling depressed enough to talk with him about it. Which is a good thing he talked to him about it. Jade
