Great topic.

 

If you're grieving from a bereavement, as I have done several times, I've noticed that people usually fall into one of these 2 categories:

 

1: freaked out and uncomfortable- this group avoids you like the plague

 

2: acknowledges the situation with a wildly inappropriate/strange condolence - I'm sorry to hear about what happened. Will you be attending Martha's wedding <insert the evening of your loved ones funeral>?

 

Hard to say which one is worse. Weeks or months later, both groups come back together to tell you or ask you if you are, or to get "over it"
