Confusedovo Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Soo I went on a first date today. Gorgeous man. Looks even better than in his pics. Made me nervous type gorgeous haha. I told him I was a lil nervous (so he didn't just think I'm just weird) he said though that I was fine and didn't seem nervous. We went to a nice cafe first (I always say I like to keep it casual first date) he paid for te drinks. We chatted about random things, had a good laugh, got to know each other a bit. Then he asked if I wanted to take a walk to the riverside, so we did. At one point when we were walking, he grabbed my hand and we walked hand in hand At the end he said it was great meeting me. That I'm funny and very cute. Lol. Then he hugged me and pecked my lips. I've not heard from him since and its been a few hours. I'm not sure if I should have thanked him afterwards?? Does it sound like he's interested eventho he didn't kiss me romantically? Is "cute" like little sister cute? Haha. Should I text him thanks for a good time, or wait for him?

kpl Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I think thank you texts are always good ideas. The fact you didnt send one isn't a big deal, I wold drop it now. If he is into you, you will hear from him, I wouldn't read into too much he said on the date. 1
Author Confusedovo Posted November 3, 2015 Author Posted November 3, 2015 Does it not seem clingy/desperate to text first? How about this: Hey thanks for today, I had a really good time. Hope the rest of your day is going well. Does that sound ok?

Hope the rest of your day is going well. Does that sound ok? I'd go with... I had a really good time, thank you again. Looking forward to next time As a guy, seeing this gets all the points across. You appreciated the time. Enjoyed yourself, want to see him again. The last part is the important part. 1
PaperCrane Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Saying thank you won't make you sound desperate. He took you out, made the moves, paid for things. Now it's your turn, thank him for the night out and if he's into you he'll suggest another date. If he doesn't, go ahead and ask for a second. If he declines, well, just move on. 1

Ok I went with that....fingers crossed! (and thanks unknown)

Hope the rest of your day is going well. Does that sound ok? Texting him to thank him for the date is not being desperate or clingy -- texting him 5 times in a row would. It is customary for a woman to text a man after the date and if she liked him to give him some encouragement for contacting her again -- "Thank you for the nice evening. I'd like to do that again sometime". It would be a good sign from him if he followed up, but he may be thinking the same thing you are "If I text her, will I seem desperate or clingy?" Send the message but if he doesn't respond or contact you again, let it go. Don't keep reaching out to him. 1
Author Confusedovo Posted November 3, 2015 Author Posted November 3, 2015 He replied "great meeting you. I'm glad you had a good time also. Are you free this weekend?" I replied "I'm busy Friday and Saturday, but how about doing something Sunday?" "lunch Sunday?" "sounds good " "great I'm looking forward to it pretty" Yay. I'm supposed to be going on first dates Friday and Saturday too! I think Fridays might cancel tho, cause he's pretty flaky with contact. I'm not sure I want to have 3 dates in a row. Feels a bit weird....watch them all cancel now 2
fitnessfan365 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 You just had the date today and it's only been a few hrs. The usual is for a woman to send a post first date text and then the guy follows up on that to plan the next date. Something simple like - "Thanks for a great time today. Looking forward to the next time. :)"
