This really hot guy I met had a strong initial handshake. I thought there was good chemistry. There was some flirting and good conversation. He seemed very caring. But when we said goodbye, the handshake was weak, his hand just sort of went limp, almost like the way some girls shake hands. What does that mean? He left some stuff (not valuables) at my place, but he hasn't contacted me to ask for them back. Should I contact him, or... don't bother?

maybe he doesn't know how to shake hands with a woman, for the guy the hand placement is different as well as you give a squeeze instead of a firm grip, maybe the limpness was just him not wanting to hurt your hand as he didn't really know how to give a handshake to a woman.

Art Critic, ha ha yes it can hurt... a lot, has happened to me before. But this guy he did it fine the first time, so he knows how.

It doesn't mean anything at all. Focus on the guy, not his handshake. Contact him if you want.

Can you provide more context? Was this a date/first date? Why was he at your place?

Maybe this is cultural, but if this is a dating situation, just the fact that you parted with a handshake (instead of a hug/kiss on the cheek) is not a good sign.

I met him through a guy I had some business dealings with. We were chatting about food and I told him to come over for dinner "sometime". He took me up on it on the spot, so I cooked and fed him, which I enjoyed. Not sure if that's a date. It was a nice evening and only the goodbye part was awkward. Maybe my cooking sucked

We don't know each other well enough to do anything other than shake hands. The way he did it was not encouraging. I don't think he'll be back :-(
