Hi everyone,

So first of all, I'd like to say that I'm 19 years old and my girlfriend is 16 years old. We have dated for over an year and everything was always fantastic with no big trouble between us.

Today she called me on the phone crying. Saying that she had to tell me something but she wanted me to stay with her. She said that 2 days ago she was starting to be unsure of how she felt about a friend. However she hid me that until today... I got really pissed and threatened to break up and she cried and cried and she got really in a bad shape.

I'm not gonna lie, I wanna get back to her. She is only 16 years old so that might have been just one thing that won't repeat, I mean we've dated for a year and there was never any problem with other guys. She is still very young (even I am lol) so I don't think I should be so severe. However I don't want to take this lightly neither.

Any suggestions guys?

You had a long relationship for ones so young. It may have run it's course.

All I can think about is the saying If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was.

While I'm not normally a fan of going backwards in life, here, she's too young to make decisions about forever. Odds are you two were never going to last until marriage & until death do you part. It may be time for her to spread her wings.

It's cold comfort but she's trying to do the right thing. And she has the integrity not to cheat.

She isn't emotionally mature yet.

You should be giving her space and let her work out her confusion without influence from yourself. A teenage crush can feel overwhelming because essentially that is what may have developed with her "friend".
