I'm getting it this week to remove my facial hair. Anybody ever have it, any advice? I'm scared it will be painful. I have a hormonal imbalance, so I have alot of hair. I do hide it well with shaving/makeup, but tired of doing it.

Hoping this works and it isn't too painful.

Can you go to an integrative medicine doctor and correct the imbalance?

I had it briefly, a few chin hairs, it was terrifying as I'm really pale, and I did a few electrolysis sessions. It's okay but I have a high tolerance to pain. Ask you doctor for Emla prescription cream to use before the treatment, it numbs the area.

Alternatively, laser is cheaper these days and hurts less, have you checked it?

What really solved my issue was my integrative doc treating my hypo thyroid and then giving me progesterone. I never had one hair since.

I don't want to go medicine.

The electrolysis was terrifying?

What did it feel like, did you use ice to numb area first? Did it work?

Laser gave me headaches.

There may be a tingling pain with electrolysis, but it won't be outrageous.

Electrolysis requires a lot of treatments because of the way the hair growth cycles work. And unfortunately, laser doesn't work for all hair types.

You could also find a reputable spa to wax you (I'd recommend a med spa with good reviews, vs. a hair salon). It's not a permanent solution, but it does weaken the hair follicles, the hair grows back less densely, and it takes much longer to grow back than shaving (I would have to shave my legs almost every day, but I only have to wax them once a month and they're only a fraction as hairy). The pain isn't extreme and it's over in the blink of an eye.

Dermaplaning also removes facial hair and it takes about a month for the hair to grow back. Dermaplaning is PAINLESS, but it's substantially more expensive than waxing.

I don't know your hair type but laser did not work for me. It reduced its on the sides, but increased around my neck.

Laser gave me headaches and made me feel sick afterwards. It also was only temporary.

Anybody else have any info or advice about electrolysis?
