Do you prefer initially meeting people on the internet or real life?

I've heard many people say in person but some say internet because it's easier to figure out people's interests and hobbies..

Personally, I've met many people online (I've now deleted all of my social media accounts) but I prefer to meet friends or potential prospects in person... I realize I rather get to know people the old fashioned...

Whats your preference?

I agree, but at times he seems much more convenient..

I have only ever made one real friend via the internet & that was an aberration. I was talking to people who would be on an upcoming cruise before we sailed. We met on board & it turned out we lived nearby. But for the accident of geography, we would not have become friends.

I hated OLD. I can never get the full measure of a person through the computer.

Though I have long-time friends met in both realms, I prefer meeting people and growing friendships and relationships in real life. That could be generational since 'online' has existed in a commonplace sense for less than half of my life. Online is a great way to stay in touch with folks not seen every day or every week or every month.

Whenever I travel, and encounter the thousands of people moving from one place to another and interacting with other people in person around the planet, I get a sense of how things go. Even while passing travel time with their smartphone, they're heading somewhere to press some flesh with someone in some way. Part of the human equation I guess.

I don't do anything online. Most guys I met from OLD looked different and possibly heavier than picture shown. I don't care if a person is overweight, just be honest and don't have a pic of you looking like brad pit from your teens.

Friends I meet in real life, more authentic.
