Does it look bad if I haven't asked my guy friend to hang out in a long time?

I haven't hung out with my guy friend from school since the beginning of September because I have been busy and I forgot to ask him the days that I haven't been working. All of the sudden, he is recently told me that he is working all weekend and won't be available because of that. I have been working during the weekend also so I'm not available to hang out when I wasn't before. Could he have lost interest in me because I haven't asked him to hang out in a long time?

if he's just a friend like you say then there is no interest for him to lose.

He probably though feels like his friend has been too busy for him and maybe, possibly, is actually working?
