So me and this girl have been together for about a month and a half now and I know her parents but she doesn't know mine and my parents don't even know she exists. I am ready to date her but I figure it's a good idea to tell my parents before I do that. That being said, what is a good strategy to do that, and my parents are divorced so I'll have to do it 2 separate times. Also I am worried about how my parents will take it because they are very lets say traditional and she is a different race than me. Finally, I am new to this whole dating thing so how do you usually ask one to be your significant other? Please any help is appreciated on any of these issues. Thanks, Andre.

Since you have to do it twice, I'd start with the more open minded parent. Tell that person you met somebody & would like to start dating her. Then talk about your concerns because of potential prejudices. Then get that parent to help you talk to the other parent.

Why is this an issue?

You can just tell them in normal conversation of what you are doing like: " so negative have you been up to?." " dad, I think I'm going to get up Sally's skirt shortly" :) dad..."who is Sally??"
