Flared nostrils is actually a fight of flight response and is in order to allow more oxygen into the lungs to prepare for one or the other.

Coughing could be the same thing.

If you have good interpersonal relationships with those who do this though then I would actually seriously be careful of how much cologne you are using as that also would inspire the same effect.

I was in a restaurant the other day and actually experienced the nostril flare because I noticed the place smelt strongly of fish and I found it very off putting.

I have no issues with others… not these women anyway. I know the one is flirty too, so it is most definitely not a flight thing.

I would say impossible for the coughing related to anything I am putting off, as it happens to sudden and mostly at a "distance".

I take a good shower after cleaning fish too, so it isn't that. ;)

Next thing we know someone will ask if farting is something we do to get a man's attention :p

Well if a sexy looking female lets out a really musty one, it would very well force me to ask her on a date, in order to be blessed with more of the fragrance.

If you like her, go talk to her.

I'm new to the dating scene…. just getting it altogether now.

Was telling my coworker in the hospital tonight that I know I won't last long on the market, and she agreed. I have known and worked for her (she was my former supervisor) for almost 2 years now, she said I won't have any issues dating once I begin doing it.

I have to say I was happy to hear that.

Nope, never done it.

And since no woman on here has said she does, I think we can rule out subconscious action.

And FTR...even from across the room Polo makes my eyes burn.

This. It's very cloying.
