Why do some women call guys "hun"? It's funny to me. What do you mean by it when you call them that?

:)

It's a short form of "honey", but I don't see it as an endearing term.

It's kind of like the girl's form of "man" in "hey man, what's up". A friendly title of sort.

I wouldn't read too much into it given no other indication of interest.

They're comparing you to some malignant dwarf named "Attila".

Also used when someone is really bad at remembering names...

Like Darling, Sweetpea, Chicken, Love, ...

It means nothing when people use terms like this...

Never been to a café and the waitress has said "there you go my love" as she serves you? All she is doing is trying to make you feel comfortable, welcome. It means nothing more than someone being friendly.

I find "Hun" to be condescending actually. I hate when people say that to me. My mother is the only person who is allowed to use it.

It might mean they are southern.

My GF always called me Hun, Boo, Babe etc.

I loved it and found it so cute. Until I realized she calls every guy those words. I heard her talking to a male friend and she kept calling him Boo and Hun. It made me feel terrible. Now when she calls me those terms it means nothing. It actually makes me annoyed. I always feel like saying "look, if you call everyone Boo, that doesn't exactly make it special when you call me that."

I certainly don't call other women "Honey" or "Babe". I would consider that totally rude.

In relationships it's just a pet term like "dear," "baby," "babe," "sweetheart," etc. Don't really see any harm or evil in it lol. And it's not just women who use pet terms.

They're asking you how you want your eggs, and whether they can get you some more coffee.
