Hey all,

So I've basically spent my entire adult life in 2, long-term relationships, and now that the latest has ended and I'm ready to try moving on, I'm not really feeling confident with the whole dating thing, so I thought I'd ask some advice.

I've been trying online dating, which is okay, I guess. I've met a few nice guys in person, but nothing clicked so far. There's this one guy, though, that I haven't actually met yet, but I really want to. We messaged back and forth for a bit, and we've been texting quite a bit for just over a week here. We're also both online gamers, so we've spent a few nights playing Final Fantasy XIV together (figuratively, of course!). There has been lots of text flirting, but he hasn't actually asked me out yet.

I think I've literally never asked a guy out in my life, so I honestly don't know what to do! Should I wait a bit longer and see if he asks me, or should I just go for it?

If I do, what should I say?

I feel more than little silly asking this in my late 20s, but I honestly just have no idea! Any advice is much appreciated :)

I've been actively online dating most of this year, so I totally understand. I'm a person that can click with a guy by texting, but you never know if the chemistry and attraction is really there until you meet. I would totally ask him out if you are feeling this strongly for him! You basically can just ask if he would like to grab a drink after work sometime or get coffee. Something low key where you can talk and not have a lot of pressure.

Good luck!

That's why it's always a good idea to talk on the phone IMO. You get insight into their actual personality and can also save yourself time. I mean if you hate talking to them on the phone, the date won't be any better.

That's a good point. I'd like to do that, but I just feel so awkward about asking. I don't know how to do it!
