Are there any books out there that I can read that would help? I'm talking about a terribly emotional abusive relationship. Name calling, gaslighting, NPD... Just plain mean and hurtful and heart crushing.

I read the one about "frogs"... But I need more strength :'( </3

"Men Who Hate Women, and the Women Who Love Them: When Loving Hurts and You Don't Know Why." By Dr Susan Forward.

It discusses emotionally abusive men/relationships, why women get involved. And how to leave and recover.

I'll check them out, thanks. I've read all the cliche ones like "He's Just Not That Into You" but this isn't exactly a normal breakup. Feels more like a divorce honestly. I'm packing up and leaving when I get back home Tuesday. (I've been home all weekend for a friends wedding.)

OP, I read all three of Natalie Lues books after my last breakup. They helped a LOT especially in understanding emotionally abusive or unavailable guys. Also, Why Men Love Bitches. Horrible title; spot-on material. Good luck.
