carhill Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 My exW used something that wore like iron but was apparently harder to apply, and it gave her a pretty hot 40's pinup look with her hairstyle and skin tones. Since she worked in the appearance biz, she'd coordinate with finger and toenail colors. While another guy might be 'meh', I've long enjoyed the style of the 40's and 50's for women so that kind of stuff worked for me. However, that was a style, with her, which long predated me. It just happened to mesh well.
RecentChange Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I prefer lipstains they're not so messy and don't get everywhere, yet lend a nice color.
bachdude Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 You seem like an outgoing person. So I think red lipstick suits your personality well. I'd go for it! Bring a little cloth. If he gives you a kiss you can wipe it off his face!
Mrs. John Adams Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 I love red lipstick and so does my husband. when i was young...i only wore pink lipsticks or lipgloss...but as i have matured i have moved to darker colors...bronze and chocolate and red...with darker lip liners. 1
shet Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 "Wore a fuchsia lip." Do you read women's fashion magazines or something? Blech - I'm embarrassed that I even know that phrasing! Who reads magazines anymore. I'm a citizen of the internet. In one day I may indeed take in a beauty post, between news of an American shooting, cat pictures, an article on Hitler's bathtub, a Kickstarter for soft toys of Pluto, an editorial on Japanese bondage dungeons and infographics on the per-hectare efficiency of various livestock produce.
Gloria25 Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Honestly most men who say "I don't like makeup" really mean they don't like it to "look like" the woman is wearing makeup. Even the women in face cleansing commercials who look like they have no no makeup have on makeup. That clean, fresh-faced, natural look....is still makeup. It's kind of funny actually. And I agree...less is more when it comes to make-up. It isn't supposed to be a "mask" you put on. Put on too much of it and you look older, like a witchy-poo and/or a cheap street-walker. It's sort of an "accent" to whatever looks you already have. I barely wear a lot of make-up cuz I don't want dudes to be surprised when they wake up to me the next morning - what you saw is what I am
Mrs. John Adams Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 well my dude has seen me wake up for a long time...lol I dont wear a lot of makeup...but he does love it when i wear red lipstick 1
kilgore Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Lipstick is great. Lip gloss I could do without
Frank2thepoint Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Red lipstick is alluring on a woman. It draws attention to her lips. But at the same time, it also sends the message that she isn't looking to kiss, because then her lipstick might get ruined. I know there's no smudge lipstick, or whatever it is, but I believe a woman uses it for effect than desiring to be kissed. Me personally, I'm not a fan of cosmetics on a woman. I like the natural look. Cosmetics hide a woman's true beauty.
Michelle ma Belle Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I've only dated one man who was obsessed with red lipstick, the rest preferred anything but red. I used to wear out tubes of red lipstick in my twenties but not sure I can really pull it off at this age despite my Italian heritage. I find it a tad too...loud for my taste. My eyes are my best feature so I prefer to play them up instead and keep my lips more on the neutral side with a "wet" look.
No Limit Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Girl here and I love lipstick, although I only wear it on special occasions or when I feel like wanting to dress up a little. I also buy rather expensive lipstick that doesn't wear off easily, hated the mess my old cheaper lipstick made.
compulsivedancer Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Just blot really well. I sometimes just fill in with lip liner, which has great staying power through a meal.
normal person Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I love it, personally. Taylor Swift style (although not necessarily Taylor Swift -- way too tall)? Yes, please.
acrosstheuniverse Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 This is my every day struggle! I love the look of lip products, but I find them extremely awkward to wear, you can't use your mouth for anything! I'm always buying new lipsticks and glosses hoping that this is finally the one that is going to tick all of the boxes on staying power, appearance etc. but as soon as I put it on, a few minutes later I'm wiping it off again in frustration haha. It stops me from drinking, eating, kissing, anything you use your mouth for is impeded by it! I wouldn't kiss a guy while wearing lipstick either, it'd just go all smeary around both of your mouths and feel gross. Seriously, I own more lipstick than probably any other makeup product. And yet wear it the least frequently. I know I should just accept it's not for me, but...
kilgore Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Haha, I can understand. One guy friend told me that if a girl wears red lipstick, it just means she doesn't want to be kissed. Ughhh. I love wearing red lipstick though especially when it can compliment my outfit, but I also wanna be kissed! haha. Going out on a spontaneous date with a guy tomorrow night and I am debating if I should wear red lipstick. Red lipstick is great
kilgore Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Not on jam over jelly. can't cover up ugliness. Did you sign up under a slightly different name just to harass her? Do you have that much free time?
