Give a definition, or example, of a person you would consider a "user" friend.

I'm interested in what others' perceive as a "user"...

Thanks :D

Back eons ago when I had a job that gave me free tickets and access, a girl I had known since she was a teenager took a turn into "user friend" territory. She'd use me to take her to a concert or get her in, but the egregious part is she would bring her "real" friend with her who wasn't invited. I did not appreciate it. As they say in nearly every political campaign in Texas, "Dance with the one that brung you."

I work in a very service oriented position. I have no friends at work. Everyone who is nice to me wants something. Once they get it I'm lucky to get acknowledged in the hall.

Someone who can't bother to talk to you or see you unless they want something from you. It could be something as obvious as money, or something less obvious like using you as their backup friend.

someone who is never there for you but expects you would always be there for them..a "friend" who makes you feel less than what you are to make themselves feel better about who they are....someone who truly doesnt care unless it pertains to them......deb

I had a friend like that. Up until high school until she got this one boyfriend. She and I would do things together. Then would never be there on the weekends because she would choose boyfriend over me. My family has done a lot for her. People say she's gotten better since she's gotten out of college. When I would try to hang out with her she would always be "unavailable." Yet if it was something she needed she would hang out.
