Any of you ladies, still have your period but dated a guy that has never experienced someone while on their period? Like their PMS lights up and you get all moody and emotional etc. They don't understand why your acting this way, you tell them it's your period and PMS but they don't understand. Because all they ever dated were ladies who use birth control and have had sex, so they never experienced a lady who didn't do that. In all honesty, I still get my periods and PMS, I have never taken birth control or had sex, because I plan to do that when I am married. So what are your thoughts on this subject?

Ahhh.... As a female, I don't really get where you are coming from. Do you really get that crazy on your period? How do you function with work / school etc?

I am not on birth control - I do have sex, never heard that sex affects hormone levels / pms.

I get a little anxiety right before my period, but that's about it as far as symptoms go. I try to be aware of "what time of the month" it is - and check myself if it seems like my emotions are getting the best of me.

If you are experiencing extreme mood swings you might want to talk to a Dr about it.

Normally most guys I've dated have been pretty understanding about PMS.

However it's usually only brought up of its the reason we aren't having sex.

I agree with RecentChange, if you're having a lot of emotional issues you might wanna ask your Dr.

I also don't really understand it as I don't get PMS whether I am on or off birth control, having sex or not.

I know of a few ladies who crave chocolate/ice cream and get painful and or heavy periods plus a few whose hip bones get displaced during a period but I don't know any women personally who seem to get very moody. Emotional maybe to the extent of a few tears when extremely happy or sad but nothing major.

As the others have suggested, I would get checked out by a doc.

I have never gone through bad PMS symptoms, but it may be interesting for you to know that they have scientifically proven you look your best all features lighten and blossom just after ovulation and right before your period to make you more attractive to the opposite sex! :)

This is the case for PMS -

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) has a wide variety of symptoms, including mood swings, tender breasts, food cravings, fatigue, irritability and depression. It's estimated that as many as 3 of every 4 menstruating women have experienced some form of premenstrual syndrome.

Symptoms tend to recur in a predictable pattern. But the physical and emotional changes you experience with premenstrual syndrome may vary from just slightly noticeable all the way to intense.

Still, you don't have to let these problems control your life. Treatments and lifestyle adjustments can help you reduce or manage the signs and symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.

At my age, it would be rare to a find a man who's never dated a woman during her period. Having said that, I've never gotten so moody that I need to explain that I have PMS. It doesn't affect me that drastically, mood-wise. I don't fly off the handle or become extremely irritable.

If you have severe mood swings, talk to your doctor. They might investigate underlying hormonal imbalances.
