I know it's hard to give gift suggestions when you don't know the people but I'm desperate.

This weekend is our 7th wedding anniversary. We give each other "traditional" gifts. Year one was paper, 3 was fruit & flowers, 4 was wood etc. We do get creative. For the fruit one I got him something for his Apple i-pad; for wood I got him timberland boots etc.

7 is copper. He's probably going to get me jewelry but he doesn't wear jewelry. He doesn't collect things. Storage boxes don't interest him. He doesn't cook so no copper bottom pans etc.

Does anybody have any ideas? All I'm coming up with is a lifetime supply of copper topped batteries which is lame but I am considering a battery operated toy like a race car.

Budget is up to $100 but doesn't have to be expensive.

Is he into guns? Bullets are usually made with copper. Is he into high end audio or video? Cables are made of copper. Premium brand cables supposedly give you better performance.

Is he a computer guy? If so, a nice copper heatsink for his CPU might work. Another option is anything made of bronze.

Have you looked at Etsy?

There are some nice copper-based watches.

I found a big copper tub for firewood or to use as a beer cooler. As part of our kitchen remodel he's getting a new bar downstairs so I think it will work when we have parties. I have never really gotten him a home-y gift (other than a wireless router but I use that more than he does) but he's gotten me a few so I think it will be OK

You probably have this covered, but a copper IUD is a gift that keeps on giving. Perhaps outside your budgetary constraints, though. At least it would be something unusual.

Does he wear cuff links? You can get him penny cuff links dated your wedding year. (There is still some copper in pennies!). You can get them on Etsy.

A collection of copper (or copper looking) coins from countries you'd both love to visit in the future? Maybe with a little tag attached to each, or in little individual organza pouches with a description or picture?

E.g. A British penny with a picture of Big Ben and a note how you'd love to kiss him on Tower Bridge.

Bit of a pain with the Euro I admit, but I'm sure you can tailor it and make it work.

Good luck, whatever you end up choosing!

Sounds adorable but he doesn't wear cuff links.

At my age preventing pregnancy is not the issue. In fact since I have posted on LS about my struggles with not being able to have kids, your suggestion actually ripped my heart out. So thanks -- for nothing. :(

After looking it up, I noticed was a TV series named "Copper" about an officer (or "copper") in New York around during the civil war. Maybe a season or two of it, if it seems like something he'd be into? Sounds like the 'clever' route you're going down.

Sounds like you have it figured out but just in case. Since he is getting a new bar, mugs for moscow mules might be a good idea. You can likely even find some you could monogram. This is the traditional serving mug for the drink and I always love them when I get them at restaurants.

I love how the gifts are tongue-in-cheek!

Yes, you could get him DVDs of the BBC America show, Copper.

There's also a comic strip called Copper. Books of it are $11-12 each: Copper
