Can a Man Be a "great catch" and Still Be Horrible in Dating?

I ask this because everybody is beside themselves when they meet me and find out how non existent my dating life is despite my combination of extreme financial success/looks/intelligence/strong character. Everybody I meet thinks I should be dating supermodels... in reality, I would be fine dating any decent looking female who is a good person.

Can a man be good at everything and still be of zero interest to women?

I would be fine dating any decent looking female who is a good person -- then approach a decent looking female, strike up a casual conversation and if you like her enough at that point, ask her for her number. Plain and simple.

If she accepts, you take her on a nice date, be respectful, charming and witty and flirt a little. If you like her enough after the date, ask her for another one.

"Baby steps, Bob". Take it apart. Don't think about the end result of having a relationship, take it one date at a time.

If she declines, look for another one that strikes your fancy. You have what it takes, just take it "there".

I'd date you ;).

But seriously, to answer your question I feel like the pretty people and people who have everything together don't have it easier than anybody else. If anything you could be intimidating to a lot of ladies, maybe they even think you're out of their league.

It depends how you come across.

If you are great but do not project that you will be overtaken by the guy who projects that but isn't so much...

Not so great guy will still be ditched once the girl finds out he isn't all that great but they will not have noticed you on the way...

I'm considered an attractive woman and I get a lot of interest from guys. My friends constantly scratch their heads because I really just want a guy *I'm* attracted to that threats me well and has good character. It's rare that I date great looking men even though I can get them. I've been trying to be really open about what package that combination comes in. It just sounds like you have a similar mindset. I think is the smart way to date. Looks fade. People lose their jobs and fortunes. Character is the one thing that will be with that person through life.

Didn't you say that you had a boyfriend in a recent post that waited six dates to kiss you?

I think that modern dating is unkind to people who don't naturally have the gift of the "perfect first impression."

One of the best boyfriends I had was not great at first impressions. But once you got to know him he was awesome - funny, kind, high-energy, and attentive He just wasn't one of those "instant" people.

Are you mainly trying OLD? Because I think that mode of dating really handicaps people who aren't instantly "waha!".

In other words, try to put yourself in an environment whee people get a chance to know and observe you and you don't have to have a cheesy doctored photo and 5 sentences in which to make an impression.
