So this guy and I were friends, until I told him that I liked him in a different way. He basically evaporated from my life. A couple months after this he texts me saying that he is sorry for everything and he wants to meet up to catch up. The only problem is now we are three hours away at separate colleges. He is giving me mixed symbols and I don't know whether to ask him what he wants or let life takes its course. What do I do?

That's a long distance away. Meet up with him if you want but he might still just want to be friends. Keep that in mind with whatever you do.

Forget it. He's an opportunist that just doesn't have anything on his plate at the moment. He will disappear again. Don't waste your time.

It sounds like he probably wants to repair the friendship. Do you want a platonic friendship with him? I feel like it's difficult to have a platonic friendship when one or the other person has/had feelings for the other. Unless he said something specifically romantic in the text i would assume that it is just friendship he's after.

I agreed to meet with him in a few weeks. Should I ask him now what he wants or when we meet up.
