I have been speaking with several men OLD. The use of baby, when speaking initially, is that a red flag. And I am a Ha ha type, LOL from men turns me off. Does it anyone else or am I being too picky? Okay baby....Lol...???

You are being too picky.

Baby is kind of lazy, a generic term they call all women instead of learning the name but imo it's a pardonable sin.

I don't LOL and find it to be a turnoff when a guy uses it a lot. Pet names early on is not genuine and quite tacky.

Gosh I hate it when they do that! When they call me "hun" or "baby" even before they meet me, or after just one or two dates it's a HUGE turn off. I usually just tell them straight up not to call me that. They usually respect my request.

Guys have never called me those things and it's not really my cup of date. However I'd choose to evaluate them on more important criteria than that. I don't mind use of lol as a lot of people do that. It doesn't necessarily show immaturity or lack of intelligence or anything like that. I know many educated people use lol.

To me being called sweetie, baby, hon, sexy and such before meeting is condescending.

I don't see any difference between haha or lol.

OP, since it's highly unlikely that something which instinctively turns you off emotionally can ever be resolved to turn you on, or not turn you off, just go with it and move on from the guys who turn you off. We can debate how you should perceive online interactions, sure, but in the end they are your perceptions and the slippery slope to thinking the interactions which should be, IMO, felt is one IME better left unexplored.

If it don't flow, don't go. Lots of men out there.

lol means he's gay. Something like that ... so I was told.

Yeah, it's ridiculous to me too.

Means absolutely nothing to me.

I'm the same way with the use of 'haha' as opposed to 'LOL'. And i'd be lying if I said I didn't notice it when men (or women for that matter) use lol. It doesn't necessarily turn me off, though.

As far as being called baby... well... I can't remember the last time a guy called me that before meeting, but I would consider it a turn off. I would continue to talk to him if I felt like it might go somewhere, though.

Lol is used so much now in general messaging (eg in my workplace) that i no longer am at all bothered by it. Its quicker to type than haha. So i dont have an issue with it. I dont use it myself unless the other person does though.

Baby, on the other hand, is ridiculous coming from someone you dont know. Maybe these guys are just out of relationships (or still in them?!) Or maybe they are just clueless. But i would be but off by that. If the guy seemed om otherwise i would ask him why he is calling you that.
