In other words, you didn't feel attracted to them at first, but thought they're interesting enough to give it a try. How did it work out, if at all?

Personally no.

I'm not really a dater for fun. I'm not American so where I'm from there isn't really a dating culture. You just meet up casually and either become an item or don't.

I only go out with someone when I feel that strong urge to but not just out of curiosity.

Yes. When my 2nd GF dumped me, i did some serious soul searching and dated various women. At my best week i had 4 dates in one week. I just went there, we talked, had a cup of coffee, no sex, nothing like that. Just hanging out. I am from Finland so we don't have that kind of dating culture here either. Usually people don't meet anyone unless they are interested in some way.

I have dated just out of curiousity.

Not curiosity, but a lot of times I've gone out with a girl who messages me online because someone's profile never gives you the full picture. You never really "know" if you like someone until you meet them in person. They might not have accurate pictures or aren't particularly good at writing about themselves, whatever the case may be, it's hard to capture their essence.

Most of the time, this goes as expected and I don't really like the person, so I spent an hour and few dollars, no big deal. But sometimes I'm very pleasantly surprised and that makes it all worth it.

May I ask where you're from? I'm curious about these places without dating culture.

I did once years ago. I was a senior in High school. He was kind of weird, but, gave it a shot. He was my first husband

Yes, I did, but it was more because I was bitter and lonely at the time and thought that anybody who would like me would be attractive in my eyes and I thought that would be enough to be pursue. Plus I thought it was my ticket to get lucky, so I kind of went with it.. It turned out that I really was not into her and I did not put in time and effort in the "relationship." It only lasted two and a half weeks.
