So i started dating a old school friend who i hadn't seen for years last month and since then things have been going great we ended up moving into our own house together.

Now where things get messy is that i drive illegally without a driving license. I told her that i rushed through and passed my driving test on a fast pass course. But the reality is that i drive without a license. She is already very suspicious on if i have a license she asked to see it.

Im going to court in a few weeks for failure to stop during a traffic crash that happened a few months a go. Apparently its not a criminal charge so im looking at a fine and maby a disqualification (before ive even got a driving license). The crash was not my fault a driver pulled out on on my right away and we crashed.

We had a good conversation last night and she told me that if i dont start being honest about everything that we wouldn't work and i promised her that i would. So now im thinking should i tell her about not having a license? should i try and get round it by saying i lost my license because of the crash? or just be fully honest?

Im just scared that if im completely honest she will leave me and i really do love her.

Any advice please?

Yes you should be honest.

And stop breaking the law.

Dude. You have to be honest. That is what a relationship is.

She might forgive you and might not, but she certainly won't forgive when she finds out you have been lying to her all along even after promising honesty.

Wow..Sharing a house/living together after only a month of dating? Crazy....

But all you can do about the DL situation is be honest.

Yeah - that is a bigger red flag to me than not having a license.

I am very surprised people move in together after only a month of dating wow. Yes it is a big red flag but anyways I think you should be honest with her. It would a lot worst if she finds out on her own that you have been lying. If you tell her, She might get upset at first which is normal but then she would appreciate the honesty. You have no choice. Good luck

This is about more than lying about not having a license, it's about driving illegally, getting into wrecks and putting her, your house/living arrangements at risk. If you continue to get into wrecks and driving without a license, you are destined to get into more trouble that could cost you thousands. Then how will you pay for all that? And, whose car are you driving now without a license? I hope you are not driving her car. You owe it to her to tell her the truth especially since she told you you need to start being honest about everything!

I'm just curious about what's so wrong with you that you cant take a couple hours of your day and go to the friggen DMV and get a license like the rest of us adults do?

WTF?

There's no reason on earth to avoid DMV like they're going to stick needles in your eye or something. There's another reason you don't have a license and I have a feeling it ain't a good one.

You're nothing but a liability to this girl. Get your sh*t together.

You crashed. Did she not ask you about the accident when she saw the damage on the car? And do you have insurance?

You moved in together after a month of dating?

On to the bigger issue, yes be honest with her, the truth is going to come out very soon whether you like it or not.

And what were you thinking of driving without a licence? People like you cause deaths on the road. I'm also pretty sure that fleeing the scene of an accident, especially one you were directly involved in, is a criminal offence. I'm guessing if you don't have a licence you're also driving uninsured? People like you are why my car insurance costs a small fortune. I hope you get the book thrown at you in court. You don't have an ounce of my sympathy mate.

If you don't have a license then why not GET one?

Seriously dude. If you can't be honest about a lousy license I can't imagine what other lies you're going to tell in the future.

Yikes.

When you go to court for not stopping, the prosecutor will find out that you do not have a license. being involved in an accident is a very big deal for an unlicensed driver. In some places you can go to jail.

Forget your date, you need a criminal defense lawyer. Also if you don't have car insurance because you don't' have a license I see a world of hurt in your future.

Dude she will find out eventually....and if she finds out that you kept it from her it will be grounds for a breakup......man up and just own it!

Yeah, pack your toothbrush when going to court, you might be needing it.

Tell her the truth.

She'll never forgive you if she finds out you're lying about such a thing, esp when it comes to breaking the law.

And seriously, stop breaking the law and get a driver's license for real.
