Is it possible to get pregnant if you had sex just a few days before your period? I did this yesterday and he ejaculated inside three times. I am supposed to have my period in one or two days, isn't this passed ovulation?

I realize it is possible to get pregnant any time, but just before your period isn't it less of a chance than if I were in full ovulation? I don't really mind if it happens. this is not the issue, but I just wonder when is the best time to get pregnant?

I don't think anyone can really be certain when she has a better, or worse chance of becoming pregnant. I believe it is possible for a woman to make an educated guess, based on plotting out her cycle over a time, and taking temperature measurements of certain places.

When I read posts like these I always feel like these girls somehow want to get pregnant Why else would you have unprotected sex??!

Anyway, you can take the morning after pill up to 72 hours after intercourse. So why worry, when you can do something about it. Just do a pregnancy test before you take the pill making sure there isn't already an existing pregnancy as the pill could harm the foetus.

Good luck and save yourself the worry next time. This is not the fifties.

Generally you ovulate 14 days before you get your period. However, this is hard to figure out since you don't know this fact until you get your period.

If the 1st day you get your period is called Day 1, generally on Day 14 you release and egg and 14 days later, if it is not fertilized you will get your peiod. However you can release and egg as early as Day 8 or as late as Day 18. And sperm can live anywhere up to 7 days in some instances inside the body.

However, it has not been unheard of tha someone releases an egg out side of this time frame, so really there is no safe time to have unprotected sex. You can even release an egg when you have your period. It has happened.

Not to mention STI/D's.
