don't really know what to make of this............i am trying to cope with this break up and really i am doing a bad job at it but whatever that's my deal

thing is yesterday i get home and outside of my place is a friend waiting for me i thought nothing of it cause well her mom knows my mom so i thought maybe she was looking for her mom or something anyway to the point at hand

i get out of my car she comes over says "hi man you like like s***" so i said "thanks for the noticing what's up" then she asks me if i could get myself looking cute like i use to look (now i hate it when a girl tells me i am cute i think like she wants to put me in diapers or something you only use cute when you see a baby or puppy) i ask why and she tells me that she will be picking ME up today at 8 so i can accompany her to a dinner party for work

what do i make of this?? she knows i just broke up with my ex......is this a pity date or what? and aside from that i guess i have to go since it is today but what do i wear? i am a t-shirt and jeans kinda guy my idea of dressing up is some slacks and a white button down shirt do i have to wear a tie?

Ask her if you should wear a tie.

I go out with my male friends all the time. It's not necessarily a date, but maybe a "let's get you out and about and cheer you up, Captain Salty". I did that with my friend "Bosco" a couple of times. Forced him to get out of his house and go to dinner or coffee and drinks with me because I felt like he was too much inside his head.

Are you sure it's a date? Or is she just trying to be a supportive friend?

I'm guessing she's being a supportive friend. Girls aren't usually this assertive when they want you as a romance.

But whatever the case, she is being nice and kind. So be receptive. Friends like this are one of the best ways to get over break ups.

she is a friend but just cause our moms know each other so i guess really she is just a girl i know. we never talk aside from the hi, how you doing, what's new, stuff like that other than that we never see each other hell she doesn't even have my number she knows where i live cause she has dropped off my mom there a couple of times.......i guess i better call her and ask her if i need to wear a tie

My b /f was a pitty date 3 years ago and we are still togeather. Kind of the same situation we we're casual friends he didn't want to be alone for his B- DAy so I felt bad and took him out.

You never know, you may like her or get a good friend out of the deal but for some reason I think Mom's behind this

I think Mom's behind this

yeah i thought this too but i called my mom last night and told her what happened and my mom is old school so she goes all into how girls aren't suppose to be asking a guy out and she never thought tina would be that kind of girl so with all that said that is when i started wondering if this was a date or a pity date maybe i am reading to much into this.........
