So I am joining an improv class on sunday and I want to know how I can make friends?

You are over thinking this. Most of the people are probably new as people go up to higher levels after being around for a term/bunch of classes. Someone might say "hey, anyone want to grab a drink " after class and you say "Sure" and you go out.

 

If someone else doesn't take the social lead maybe after a couple of classes you can make teh suggestion and say "I feel like grabbing a beer, anyone want to join"?
