Because for most people its a challenge. Some people even lose interest once they "get" the person.

Although I have heard personally of many many situations where the guy has aggressively pursued an unwilling woman, and for some unknown stupid reason his persistence, and idiotic behavior for not knowing how to take "No" for an answer actually makes him attractive to the woman.

I dont understand how a woman can "hate his guts" and then totally flip 180° and want to sleep with him weeks or months later??

Like I said I personally know 4 married couples that are living proof of this. They absolutely detested their husbands when they first met. Voicing their opinions on how they were the rudest, childish, immature losers they ever met, yet because the guys didnt take no for an answer, and practically stalked the women day after day....they get awarded a date, sex, and marriage.

could also be some type of self-preservation. pursuing "unavailable" people means you protect yourself from hurt and a real relationship

The OP didn't say 'unavailable'

The OP specified 'not interested'.

I think there's a difference...

Hence my response.

Simple biology, propagation of the species. Eventually his efforts flick a switch in her brain & she then sees him differently. Some women change their base subconscious attraction ideals depending on their menstrual cycle. Not all women of course.

True.

I've said it for years. Women tend to find a guy attractive based on their "perception" of him, rather than who he actually is as a person. It's exactly why a woman thinks "Tony" is so hot and irresistible, but her friends see him as a jerk and cant talk her out of dating him.

A guy can either directly or indirectly do one little thing in the presence of a woman, and all of a sudden she is attracted to him, when before she barely noticed him. The time of day, and location also plays a HUGE role in it as well. A guy could cross paths with a woman while shes pumping gas, running in a store to grab something, or on the subway going to work, and his actions could go unnoticed. But have that guy cross paths with her while she is on her way out for a night on the town, or just sitting with a friend having coffee, and all of a sudden her awareness and reactions are totally different.

I dont know why, but many women seem to go into "shut down" mode as far as being interested in men during their daily routines. They focus more at the tasks at hand. But then when the work day is over, its as if they flip a switch, and the "I can go out and have fun now" mode starts. But most men seem to be much more aware of the women around them at any given time.
