regdent Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 This girl and I did short-term dating, and she ended it about 6 wks ago. I found it so hard to get over her because I was actually into her and we go to the same school. we are in the same field. I ran into her for the first time in weeks at a grocery store near school. I know she's on dating apps and stuff, so I am sure she's actively looking for her unicorn. We spoke briefly. We aren't really friends, but I tried my best to be courteous. During our brief encounter, I noticed one side of her face being slightly darker than the other. I touched that area and said, "did you get punched or elbowed recently?" She laughed and said hell no. Anyway, she sent me a random text at night around midnight. "Finally leaving lab." I thought, "that's really random. What the hell she said wants?" I responded this morning by saying, "didn't know you were more serious about this ___ thing than me." No response for a few hours. Then I wrote, "what kept you there so long?" Then she wrote a long ass text. Then I wrote, "def sounds like a struggle." Then she wrote, "it was." I left it at that. It's so pointless. We aren't really friends, we aren't actively pursuing each other the way we initially did. Attention seeking behavior?
SmartDude Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 She messaged you at midnight telling you exactly were she was. Maybee she wanted to try again? *shrugs*
katiegrl Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Her text was meant for someone else.... IMO she texted you by mistake ... It was meant for some guy she was planning to meet letting him know she was finally leaving the lab... That was my first thought..
Maggie4 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 You keep saying you're not friends. But maybe she wants to be friends? If you don't want to be friends, you have to ignore her or else she might think you want to be friends.
katiegrl Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Unlikely considering she has not texted him in a long time. Unless HE was on her mind, instead of the guy she was actually meeting. But yeah, I do see your point. Just seems like a bizarre thing to say to someone you had not seen in years, and with whom you are not even friends... Like, why the hell would he care that she was finally leaving the lab? Why would she think he even would care? How about "hey, it was good running into you today..". Something like that. Bizarre!
